LDA CHIEF SELLINGER ELECTED TO
LAS VEGAS GOLF HALL OF FAME

INDUCTION SET FOR SEPT. 27

ROANOKE, TEXAS (May 26, 2011) - Art Sellinger, owner and chief executive officer of Roanoke-based Long Drivers of America (LDA), has been elected of the Las Vegas Golf Hall of Fame.

Sellinger, a two-time U.S. National Long Driving Champion (1986, 1991) and since 2000 a member of the LDA Hall of Fame, is the driving force behind the premier
event in power golf -- the RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship Powered By Dick's Sporting Goods.

Sellinger will be inducted into the Las Vegas Golf Hall of Fame as a member of the Class of 2011, which also includes PGA Tour veteran Craig Barlow and amateur standout Laurie Johnson, a multiple Nevada state champion.

Sellinger who played high school golf in Las Vegas for the Chaparral H.S. Cowboys and later played collegiately for both Arizona Western and UNLV, was, along with his brother Saul, a charter member of the Southern Nevada Junior Golf Association, which was formed in 1975.

Sellinger later represented his home state in both the Junior Americas Cup and the USGA Junior Amateur.

In addition to his visionary work with LDA, the 46-year-old Sellinger is the owner of Art of Long Driving, Inc., a power golf special events company, and Sellinger's Power Golf, a retail and etail operation with stores in Roanoke and Addison.

He is also the lead instructor at the acclaimed LDA Power Academy and a widely published authority on power golf.

The mission of the Las Vegas Golf Hall of Fame is to celebrate and bring awareness to players, administrators, benefactors, groups, instructors, teams, and other worthy golfers who have served the game of golf in Las Vegas in a positive and meaningful way; whether through performance on the course, volunteerism, financial support, promotion, or other dedicated service.

An additional aspect of the mission is to help reveal Las Vegas as an ultimate golf destination. The current home of the Las Vegas Golf Hall of Fame is a museum-style exhibit within the club house of the historic Las Vegas National Golf Club.

Among the members of the Las Vegas Golf Hall of Fame are Jim Colbert, Butch Harmon, Tommy Armour III, Robert Gamez, Helen Cannon, the original Tournament of Champions, and the 1998 NCAA Champion UNLV Golf Team.
