Dean Wilson


Dean Wilson may not be a household name when it comes to the PGA Tour, but he did leave his mark in more ways than one.

First, he had a solid career with one victory in 263 PGA Tour starts. He wound up with more than $8.9 million in earnings in his career.

But there is one ‘first’ that Wilson always be remembered for: He was in the threesome with Annika Sorenstam when she teed it up in a PGA Tour event, the 2003 Charles Schwab Challenge. Tour rookie Aaron Barber was the third player in the group.

Wilson said of the event: ‘When I think back about it, it’s just all good memories.’

  • Wilson posted one victory in 263 PGA tour starts, winning the 2006 INTERNATIONAL in Colorado. He beat Tom Lehman in a playoff.
  • Also had two runnerup finishes and 21 top-10 finishes.
    Wilson lived in Las Vegas for a 10-year span during which he had most of his Tour success.
  • Was in the threesome with Annika Sorenstam when she played a PGA Tour event for the first time in 2003.
